Gary Saunders at Ellmer Construction is a repeat client of ours, but this was our first project with him at Ellmers.

 

Ellmer Construction was embarking on a new venture, manufacturing bathroom pods for its internal fit-out business using an innovative composite wall construction. 

 

One of the first projects for these pre-fabricated bathroom pods was the bespoke manufacture of 362 units for the prestigious Lillie Square Phase 2 works at Earls Court, London.

 

The company came to us for support during the creation of a new team and manufacturing facility; and for the expertise to guide the team through testing processes – for fire, acoustic and structural performance, plus adhesion of ceramic tiles – to prove the adequacy of the wall and floor construction.

 

We provided in-depth advice on the preparation of test samples and managed the entire testing process, including obtaining competitive quotes, identifying and agreeing appropriate dates and timings, liaising with test organisations and attending the tests to monitor proceedings.

 

The manufacturing facility and development of the composite design were completed in time for sample production; successful test outcomes allowed hand-over of the pod design for full-time production to commence on time.

 

The entire project was completed in three months.
