Evidencing competence for
warranty acceptance
R&M Developments was a new client for Westbrook & Bell, although the company has been in business for over 35 years, most recently working as a main contractor and groundworks / civil engineering specialist to airports and other clients.

R&M was making a strategic move into residential development, specifically using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), and the team there realised that achieving approval by major warranty providers would be vital for the success of the initiative. It was important for R&M to demonstrate that its project team had the knowledge and experience to competently build homes, and that it represented a standard / low risk for a New Homes Warranty from a major warranty provider.
Our job was to bring all the relevant facts and evidence together into one document which would help achieve this and form part of a strong warranty submission.
Working with every member of the development team, we researched and detailed all aspects of the company’s prior experience which were relevant to residential construction. Personnel knowledge and experience was also an important factor, so we compiled information on the R&M team, conducted detailed interviews with key personnel and developed co-ordinated Corporate CVs for the key members of the team, including external consultant partners.
We delivered the final document in just 2 months. R&M Developments went on to obtain a good warranty offer on its next residential project; and has a detailed and credible document which demonstrates its competence, helping promote its move into the residential sector.
